About

About

Ghost Hit Recording is a 3,000 sq ft residential recording studio built into a historic church in West Springfield, MA. In addition to the church’s former sanctuary, which is the studio’s main live room, the studio has an acoustically “dead” space and three spacious isolation booths.

GHR features a DDA AMR 24 analog console, a hand-picked selection of world-class microphones, an extensive collection of vibey analog tools and vintage instruments, and a range of industry standard software. GHR has a 40x32 Pro Tools HDX system and is wired with an Aviom cue system with ten 16-channel mixers for full artist control of playback while tracking.

GHR has a beautiful apartment in the building available to add to your booking. While working and staying at GHR, you can have a luxurious morning by the fireplace then head up to the studio with your coffee or tea. You can finish a session with a bottle of wine, then head down to the apartment for a restful night.

ABOUT OUR CONSOLE

The control room at GHR is centered on our modded, recently recapped DDA AMR 24 analog console. DDA is the company formed in 1985 by David Dearden and Gareth Davies, two ex-MCI and Soundcraft designers who subsequently went on to form the company Audient. The preamp/EQ's get used every session and have tons of vibe— we use the console as an analog front end, monitoring Pro Tools off the Dangerous Monitor ST.
